Letters to Our Daughters – February 2013

Dear Daughter,

This month has been a rough one.  Illnesses have plagued our household for nearly the whole month.  You were hit hard with strep throat twice.  But the upside to that was you got to spend some quality time with mommy while you were at home recovering.

You are getting so independent.  While you’ve been home sick, you get your own water, your own snacks, turn on the TV and even help your brother.  Yesterday, I promised you we could go out for lunch together.  You quietly slipped into your room and got dressed on your own.  You had picked a green shirt, blue and pink flowered skirt and bright pink sweatpants.  A colorful outfit for a colorful little girl:)

Your favorite shows this month are Fresh Beat Band and Sofia the First.:)

Letters to Our Sons – February 2013

Dear Son,

You turned two recently and have also been fighting for your independence.  But at the end of the day, your favorite thing is still to “nuggle” with mommy and daddy in your rocking chair.

You are transitioning over to the “Two’s” at your preschool.  You absolutely love the new challenge  and being with the older kids.  You’ve started to count and know your numbers to ‘4’.   You’ve grown a lot over the past couple months too.  I had to buy you all new pants and shirts last week.  You are starting to look like a little boy and no longer a baby.

Your favorite things to play with are cars, trucks and trains.  For your birthday, grandma and grandpa gave you a train table with wooden tracks and trains.  It took daddy and grandpa 2 hours to put all the tracks together.  :)  We love to watch as you discover new things.

jennburnett - Awww, Nicole! I remember when our son started to look like a little boy instead of cute baby… it really goes so quickly. Beautiful letter!

Sick Day

My kids have been going through a round of strep throat these past couple weeks.  On sick days, it’s jammies, Mickey Mouse, and Apple Juice around here:)

Senior Session with the ‘S’ family

I met this beautiful family when we lived next door to them several years ago.  I won’t age myself, but let’s just say, this gorgeous girl was much younger than she is now:)

Doesn’t she look like Taylor Swift?  And the best part is, she is beautiful on the inside and out.  :)
